Sentencing & Appeals

Sentencing

Sentencing is a distinct and complex area of criminal law where each case must be assessed on its own facts. It is not just the charges that decide your penalty but also your background and potential for rehabilitation. There are other complex issues that your Judge must consider when imposing a penalty on you and we will deal with them for your benefit.

It is just as important to put deep thought and hard work into preparing a plea as it is to preparing to defend a matter.

You should not assume that your penalty is a foregone conclusion. We will put in the time and effort to prepare a highly effective plea to fight for your best result.

Appeals

If you are unhappy with your result we can help you appeal against your sentence or conviction to a higher court. Strict time limits apply and you should immediately seek legal advice if you want to appeal
